Nigel Mooney's Wedding & Event Bands for Hire

So you’re thinking of hiring some music for your event? Well, I should be able to put something together that would suit you, whether it’s for a wedding, dinner-dance or party, or perhaps a corporate event or reception where something more sophisticated in the background is required.

I’ve been playing jazz and the blues throughout Ireland and beyond for almost thirty years now, and in that time I have played at hundreds, nay, thousands of weddings and dinner-dances in many different guises, from my early days with the Gripewater Blues Band through my time as guitarist with the legendary Earl Gill's Band. Nowadays, I perform mainly with the quartet or the trio and I'm having a ball unearthing old standards that are new to me.

When it comes to your wedding, dinner-dance or other event, I have some sort of line-up that will suit, and in order to avoid the tiresome and drawn-out email discourse I have listed the various acts with a brief description of each on the right side of this page.

Each act has something different to offer and is made up of Ireland’s finest musicians- we don’t use backing tracks or recordings. While jazz is one element of what we play, the sets performed at your event would be drawn from a wide range of musical styles and will be entirely appropriate to the occasion. I have recently produced a short demo-C.D. specifically related to this web-page;  rather than a proper album, it's a sort of "wedding album" or "E.P. Mooney" containing a selection of recordings of typical tunes we might play at functions and performed by various different acts similar to those listed across. If you haven’t already got it I can put it in the post to you.

I hope there will be something here that will suit you, your fiancée, your boss, your guests, or just your pocket. If you have any queries, send an email to my agent, Essie Martin at the following address:
